This Rockridge mainstay is right across the street from the BART station. It's busy all hours of the day, so you know it's good. Plus, they know their stuff and crank through the lines pretty quickly.
We've eaten in and taken out, and the quality is always high. A friend once recommended the vegetarian crispy tacos, and that's now my wife's go-to. Our kids nosh on the large quesadillas. We often get the nachos.
Anytime I get the burrito, it's always Mejor-ized for an extra buck or two. Oh, and the salsas are top notch. My favorite is the habanero, but the pineapple one gives a sweet kiss to whatever you order.
Plus, they've got Negra Modelo on tap - and probably other Mexican beers as well, but I always get that one. After all the times we've been, our experience has been consistently tasty with high quality ingredients. Definitely worthwhile! -

The food here is really good. Even when it's busy, the wait isn't that bad. The menu selection isn't anything you wouldn't see at other taquerias, but the quality is what I think really makes this place stand out.
I really like the fact the meats come from sustainable farms, and you can taste the difference IMHO. -

At first I didn't like them because I thought their burritos were too small, but then I realized they're only $7 and if you want a normal size burrito you order the mejor for like $2 more. But usually a normal size burrito is too much for me anyways so it's nice to have a smaller option!
The chips & salsa are just okay as other reviewers have mentioned. -

This place is pretty bad overall. I know it's on College Ave so they need to upcharge you but when you come skimpy on the portions purposefully to top, then my friend we have s problem. I ordered a carne asada burrito and a can of coke and it came out to $12.50. I was surprised because I chose not to add cheese, sour cream or guacamole because they charge $2 for each. The can of coke was $2.50 which is ridiculous, I can see if it's was a fountain drink but whatever. The burrito was super tiny and very bland as well. I would avoid at all costs.

Cactus is such a cute and delicious restaurant! We ordered the crispy tacos which were amazing, the chicken enchilada and rice was good, but nothing amazing, and the chips were pretty good! Overall I loved the food and the prices are great and the service is speedy! I will definitely be back!
